A new educational program is coming to the Chattanooga Zoo every Tuesday at 10:30 am. The “Best Little Zoo in America” announced it will now offer Zoo Tales, a program designed for mothers and their young children, beginning Tuesday, Sept. 4.
Zoo Tales is an educational program designed to promote awareness and appreciation of wildlife, both local and foreign. Each program will begin with the reading of a children’s book by Education staff and follow with either an up-close animal encounter or handicraft. Participation in this program is complimentary with Zoo admission.
Chattanooga Zoo Executive Director, Darde Long says an educational story time program at the Zoo is something that they have always wanted to be able to offer its guests. “The addition of Zoo Tales is just another example of how the Zoo is continuing to grow and progress. We want to thank our local community for continuing to support our efforts,” she said.
There is no cost for participating in Zoo Tales. The program is complimentary for all Zoo visitors. For more information, call 643-5780.
