Ooltewah Volleyball Falls In Choo Choo Semifinal

The Ooltewah Lady Owl volleyball team lost just two matches  in the Choo Choo volleyball tournament at East Rigde this past weekend.  The first to Bradley Central in pool play and the second to Dobyns-Bennett in an elimination semifinal match. 

The Lady Owls earned wins over Baylor, CCS, Science Hill and Red Bank on Saturday to earn their spot in the semifinal match against Dobyns-Bennett. 

Ooltewah was the only local team to make it to the semifinals and faced off against Dobyns-Bennett.  The visitors from Murfreesboro took the semifinal win 25-16, 25-15.

They advanced to play Blessed Trinity (GA) in the championship match. 

Ooltewah improves to 9-5 overall and 2-2 in the district. 

In the semifinal loss, Kesley Chernak had 10 assists, 3 kills, 1 ace and 2 digs.   Izabela Zdunek had 12 digs and 1 kill.  Leondra Barrett had 7 kills.

Chattanooga FC Host Storm Saturday

Dog Fighting Operation Uncovered On Talladega Avenue

TBI was executing a narcotics search warrant at 6302 Talladega Ave. in Chattanooga on Friday and uncovered a dog fighting operation. City May Move Forward On $47 Million Wilcox Tunnel Project

City officials may move forward on a $47 million project to upgrade the narrow Wilcox Tunnel through Missionary Ridge.
