Tennessee Temple Staying In Highland Park Despite Departure Of Highland Park Baptist

Tennessee Temple University will remain in Highland Park despite the departure of Highland Park Baptist Church, officials said Monday.

Highland Park Baptist is moving to a site on Highway 58 and changing its name to Church of the Highlands.

Officials said, "Tennessee Temple University will remain in the Highland Park neighborhood
where it serves students from the state of Tennessee, as well as throughout the nation and abroad.

"With a 10 percent increase in enrollment this fall, the university is excited about continuing to be an integral part of the Highland Park community."

Dr. Steven Echols, president of Tennessee Temple University, said TTU "is looking forward to the ongoing close partnership with Highland Park Baptist Church as the combined ministry efforts of both institutions will now allow for an expanded geographic presence in the greater Chattanooga area."

City Council Ad Hoc Committee To Study Moving Elections To August, Adding More Districts, Staggering Terms
