On the 11th anniversary of the attacks of Sept. 11, 2011, Senator Bob Corker, R-Tn., made the following statement after participating in the Navy reenlistment ceremony for Aviation Support Equipment Technician Second Class (AW) Randy Miracle of Rogersville, who first joined the Navy in response to 9/11.
“Randy Miracle, like many brave Americans of his generation, volunteered to serve his country because of the devastating attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. His decision to re-enlist after ten years of service in the Navy is yet another reminder of the heroism and patriotism displayed by so many Americans following the events of that dark day. We are forever indebted to Randy and all our military service members who make tremendous sacrifices everyday to defend this country.
“What began as one of the worst tragedies in our history soon turned into a day remembered for courage, compassion and the resolve of the American people. As we once again pay tribute to those we have lost, let us honor their memories by confronting our nation’s challenges together to preserve the greatness of this nation for generations to come.”
