Middle Valley Church of God, at 1703 Thrasher Pike in Hixson, continues its adopted theme for 2012, "Involving Ourselves in 2012." This theme will guide all ministry efforts.
In conjunction with this theme, Pastor Mitch McClure will continue a new series of sermons titled, "It's Rough Out There" on Sunday. Pastor McClure will speak on the topic "Juice Me Up!" in the 10:30 a.m. service on Sunday, September 16, 2012.
Mr. McClure said, "In times of struggle we look for ways to give us strength.
If we are not careful, we will overlook the real power that God has already provided the church. As a pastor, I must preach about this power and the availability Christian's have to it. The church must preach and teach that God provides power in difficult days. The church must remain true to the Word of God. The church must lead the way in working to accomplish the goals established by Jesus Christ. I believe the church has the greatest opportunity to minister in 2012 more than any other time in history. Our challenge is to accept what God has called us to do."
Pastor McClure will lead the church in a prayer focused service on Sunday, in the 6:30 p.m. service.
In addition to the Sunday worship times, Sunday school is offered with classes for all age groupings at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday. As well, Family Training Hour is offered each Wednesday at 7 p.m. with classes for all age groupings. Presently, Pastor McClure is leading a Bible study on the topic, "Where Is God?" This interactive study is conducted in the administrative classroom of the church. All are invited to participate in all the opportunities of Middle Valley Church of God.
Middle Valley Church of God continues community ministry since 1946. For additional information, please contact Pastor Mitch McClure at 423 843-1539.
