UTC will hos the following activities for its Homecoming week celebration Sept. 17-22

Monday

Homecoming Kickoff Pep Rally

11:50 a.

m., Heritage Plaza, Vine Street

Join us for our 2012 Homecoming Kickoff Pep Rally and hear from coaches, students, and more about how great our battle against Appalachian State will be. The 2012 Homecoming Court will also be announced along with music from the UTC band and cheers by the UTC Cheerleaders and Sugar Mocs.  This event is free and open to the public.

 

Tuesday

CAB Lip Sync

8 p.m., McKenzie Arena
Join the students for the annual Lip Sync competition as they dance and "sing" the night away.
 This event is free and open to the public.

 

Wednesday 

Homecoming Field Games

3:45 p.m., Heritage Plaza/Challenger Field

The tradition of field games never gets old. Students from all campus organizations come together to compete in various field games like the annual Trout Joust, tug of war, and bed races. Spectators are welcome!

 

Thursday

 

Homecoming Tap Party

5 p.m., Big River Grille (downtown), Broad Street

What can be more appetizing than a great evening celebration with a special UTC Homecoming Brew at Big River Grille?  Hosted by the UTC GOLD Council. This event is free and open to the public.

UTC Homecoming Step Down

8 p.m., McKenzie Arena
Student organizations from across campus are prepared to step up at the Step Down! Join in on the fun!
 This event is free and open to the public.

Friday

UTC Homecoming Golf Tournament

12:30 p.m. Shotgun Start, Valleybrook Golf and Country Club
Grab some friends, don your best blue and gold golf outfit and make plans to play in the our annual Homecoming Golf Tournament at the Valleybrook Golf and Country Club. The proceeds from this tournament help to fund alumni programming and UTC student scholarships. This event is  open to the public. Community Pep Rally at Miller Plaza

noon; Miller Plaza Downtown Chattanooga
Join Coach Huesman, his staff, and football players at Miller Plaza for a community pep rally to help get everyone ready for UTC Homecoming! The Marching Mocs, cheerleaders and Sugar Mocs will all be on hand to perform as well to get everyone in the spirit for the weekend's festivities. This event is free and open to the public.

Family Movie Night - featuring Disney•Pixar® Toy Story

8 p.m.; Challenger Field (located off Palmetto Street behind the Challenger Center on UTC Campus)

Alumni, students, faculty and staff bring the family down to campus for a flashback to the 90s flick on the field with our featured presentation of Disney•Pixar® Toy Story.  Bring your favorite movie snacks and pitch a blanket outside for a fun-filled evening the whole family can enjoy!  This event is free and open to the public.

 

Saturday

Breakfast with Coach Huesman

8 a.m., University Center, Chickamauga Room (3rd Floor)
Join the UTC Mocs Club and get a preview of the big game vs. SoCon rival Appalachian State from Head Football Coach Russ Huesman. Contact Caleb Whitted, Director of the Mocs Club for reservations, 425-4773. The cost is $8 per person; Registration Required. 

Campus Tours

10 a.m., Lansing Court between the University Center and Maclellan Gym.
Student guides will be on hand to take visitors and alumni on a tour of the campus. Come see what has changed and to bring back some great memories of your time as a student. This is a walking tours so please wear comfortable shoes.  Tour time is approximately 1.5 hours.
 This event is free and open to the public but registration is required.
 

Tailgating 

Tailgating begins at 3 p.m. To reserve a spot in the First Tennessee Pavilion, contact the Mocs Club at 425-4773.

Chattanooga Mocs vs. Appalachian State Football Game

6 p.m. Davenport Field at Finley Stadium
Wear your Blue and Gold and cheer on our Mocs as they take on SoCon rival Appalachian State. Enjoy the halftime and post game festivities as we announce the 2012 Homecoming Queen and Top Moc and Homecoming Best Greeks and Organizations Awards.

GNTC Has 9 To Graduate From Law Enforcement Academy

Feds Dismiss Criminal Charges Against Rarity Developer Mike Ross

Federal authorities have dismissed an indictment against Mike Ross, the developer of a floundering Rarity Club project at Nickajack Lake in Marion County. Head Of BB&T's Chattanooga Commercial Banking Operations To Plead Guilty To Making Fraudulent Loans

The head of BB&T's Chattanooga commercial banking operations has been charged by federal authorities with making fraudulent loans. Tracy Brown is set to plead guilty to bank fraud on June 4.
