UTC also faced 12 opponents in 2002 (2-10).

The next time UTC can schedule 12 games is 2019 due to an extra week on the calendar. The Mocs play 11-game schedules, 2015-2018 with a trip to Florida State ($550,000) highlighting the 2015 schedule.

Contracts with Glenville State and the Mocs first two opponents -  South Florida and Jacksonville State - end after this season.

2013 Season: That trio will be replaced with UT-Martin, Georgia State and Austin Peay in 2013, along with a big pay day ($450,000)  trip to Tuscaloosa to face the Crimson Tide.  UT-Martin is the season opener (Aug. 29) at Finley Stadium. The other eight games are against Southern Conference schools.

2014 Season: In 2014, the Mocs travel to Knoxville to take on the Vols ($450,000) in Neyland Stadium for the season opener (Aug.30). Georgia State is the home opener (Sept.6), followed by a visit to Austin Peay (Sept. 13) and later at UT-Martin (Nov. 8), plus the usual 8-game Southern Conference schedule.

The UTC schedules show Georgia State for home-and-home in 2013 and 2014, with four-game series with UT-Martin (2013-14, 2017-18) and Austin Peay (2013-14, 2015-16).

Three In-State Foes: With three in-state schools - Tennessee, Austin Peay, UT-Martin - on the 2014 Mocs football docket, it will be the first time the Mocs have faced three Tennessee-based teams in one football campaign since 2003 when Vanderbilt, Tenn. Tech and East Tennessee State played the Mocs in coach Rodney Allison's first year as head coach.

Four in a Season: In 1997, UTC played four in-state foes - Tenn. Tech, Middle Tenn. State, Tenn. State and East Tenn. State.

Six Volunteer State Foes in 1905: The Mocs faced only Tennessee schools in 1905 with Dayton HS, Maryville (twice), Cumberland College (Lebanon), Tenn. School for the Deaf (Knoxville), Southwest Presbyterian (now Rhodes College in Memphis) and Tennessee .... The Mocs were 6-1 that season, falling only to Cumberland College.
