Candidate Mary Headrick commented on debates and forums with she and her opponent.
She said, "I have accepted offers from outside parties that are attempting to arrange debates and forums. I have made myself available for debates. I believe it is in the best interest of the voters of the 3rd District to see their candidates face off on important issues. I believe that more information, not less, is what the voters need and want from their candidates.
Voters deserve to know not only what the candidates' positions are, but they also deserve to see how well we present them and can argue our positions. As a physician, I have not spent much of my professional career debating in public, but I expect that a lawyer like Mr. Fleischmann should be willing and able to engage in public debate."
Teacher Tammy Magourik can be contacted for information about an Oct. 8 forum from 6:30-7:30 p.m. which both candidates will attend in Cleveland at the Bradley County Public Library. Bradley County was redistricted to include both Districts 3 and 4.
