Street Closings Announced For The Weekend

West 13th Street, from Carter Street to Chestnut Street will be closed Thursday, Friday and Saturday, from 8 a.m.-10 p.m. daily for the Tennessee Tow Show.

Chestnut Street between West 13th Street and West Main Street, Fort Street between West 13th Street and West 14th Street and West 14th Street between Fort Street and Chestnut Street will be closed from 3 p.m. on Thursday, through 2 p.m. on Sunday, for the Coker Tire Challenge.

Reggie White Boulevard between West 19th Street and the entrance to the Skate Park, West 19th Street from Reggie White Boulevard to Chestnut Street, and West 17th Street from Chestnut Street to Broad Street will be closed from 1 p.m.-midnight on Thursday, for  the UTC football game.

Riverfront Parkway and West 20th Street will be closed from ML King Boulevard to Broad Street from 5:30-8:30 a.m. on Saturday, for the Trail of Tears Remembrance Motorcycle Ride.

Reggie White Boulevard, between West 19th Street and the entrance to the Skate Park will be closed from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on Sunday, for the Chattanooga Market.

 

 


Ladies’ Leisure Ride Is Sunday

The Ladies’ Leisure Ride is a slow-paced cruise through downtown Chattanooga, just for the ladies. Follow the course of US Pro Cycling Road Race, at a leisurely pace.  Finish with dinner downtown with other ladies who like to bike.  The ride will be held Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at Miller Plaza - 850 Market St.  There will be Nightfall closures in effect Sunday afternoon, ... Ride For Freedom Motorcycle Events Fights Human Trafficking

Second Life of Chattanooga and The Zion Project are partnering to host the Ride for Freedom, a motorcycle poker run on Saturday, June 1. Registration will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Thunder Creek Harley Davidson at 7720 Lee Highway. Woman Killed In Early-Morning Wreck On Thrasher Pike

A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the 1200 block of Thrasher Pike early Saturday morning. Soddy Daisy Police Chief Phillip Hamrick said a female passenger was ejected from the vehicle. She was transported to Erlanger Hospital by LifeForce helicopter about 3:15 a.m. The driver was transported by Hamilton County EMS. It is believed he had non-life threatening injuries. ... City May Move Forward On $47 Million Wilcox Tunnel Project

City officials may move forward on a $47 million project to upgrade the narrow Wilcox Tunnel through Missionary Ridge. The City Council on Tuesday is to consider a resolution to apply for a $25 million federal TIGER grant. The city would still have to come up with $21,825,000 through "local funds or grants."
