Who-Fest Returns To The NorthShore As Who-Too! For Its Debut Fall Event

Thursday, September 13, 2012

Winder Binder Gallery will present the inaugural Who-Too! Art Festival on Saturday and Sunday at Coolidge Park on the NorthShore.  Celebrating its 6th year in Chattanooga, the Festival is produced by Winder Binder Gallery & Bookstore in collaboration with the Who Ha Da Da Artist’ Collective.

Originally produced in Atlanta, Who-Fest moved to Chattanooga in 2007.  The festival normally attracts 70 local, regional, and national artists and provides the unique opportunity to meet and purchase directly from artists that specialize in folk, outsider, visionary, and self-taught art.  Fields of study include painting, glass, metalworking, sculpture, jewelry, pottery, furniture, photography, and textiles.

After fivee years at Renaissance Park, the festival committee decided to change the venue to the much more visible Coolidge Park.  An earlier date in May was also secured to help avoid the typical Memorial Day Weekend heat.

Following the overwhelmingly positive May debut in Coolidge Park, patrons and artists were near unanimous in calling for a second “sister event” to be held in the fall, from that call to action Who-Too! was born.  In its first year, the fall event will be smaller in scale, hosting 40-50 artists.

Festival organizers are also pleased to announce that under the direction of music director Tina Torrance, Who-Too! will host an expanded line-up of diverse musical offerings from nine local performers and bands over two days.  A complete list of performers, and schedule, are available at www.whofest.com

Hours are Saturday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.  Admission is free.  For more information, contact Winder Binder Gallery and Bookstore at 413-8999, email to kara@winderbinder.com, or visit www.whofest.com.
