Momentum Academy Dance is calling on all ages of the Cleveland Community to join "The Pink Glove Dance The Competition" on Saturday at 5 p.m. at Shepard Field at Mosley Park off Inman Street.  Participants will be taught a simple fun dance to benefit Bradley County Relay for Life.

The Pink Glove Dance is a video competition sponsored by Medline Industries, Inc., manufacturer of the pink gloves and producer of the original Pink Glove video.  Everyone will get Pink Gloves from Medline to wear during the dance.

As part of the Pink Glove Dance 2012 Competition MAD's video will be posted on www.pinkglovedance.com on Oct 12 along with the videos of the other participants to be viewed by the public.  Viewers can vote on their favorite video.  The top three winners will receive a donation to the breast cancer charity of their choice.  First place is $10,000, second place is $5,000 and third place is $2,000.  The local charity supported is Bradley County Relay for Life.

MAD would love to have as many cancer survivors as possible in the video, which will have a special part in the dance just for them.  Anyone wanting to bring photos in memory of a lost love one is also encouraged to come.  There will be a memory wall to post all pictures.  MAD will do a special part in the video of these brave individuals who lost their battle with this disease.

As an extra for the Bradley County Relay of Life, MAD will have a large pink glove on site for anyone wishing to donate to the Relay of Life.  This way even if they don't win the Pink Glove Dance Competition, they will still be benefiting the local cancer society in their plight to raise funds for the local chapter.  Anyone donating to the large Pink Glove for Relay of life will also be given a ticket for a chance to win a video camera an $80 value to be given away at the end of the filming of the video courtesy of MAD.

MAD is striving to give back to the community that supports them. So they are continuing to find things that will benefit the Cleveland community such as the Pink Glove Dance.  MAD also has free dance clinics each month to bring the art of dance to the community for individuals who may not be able to afford dance lessons.  MAD gave out two scholarships this year to two young dancers for a class of their choice for the 2012-2013 dance year.  MAD also offers free Company classes to their students.

MAD is under the direction of Carrie Kramar who is a national award winning soloist, winner of several dance scholarships and choreography awards.  Ms. Kramar wants to bring her love and passion for dance to her students to teach them that your dream can come true with hard work and perseverance.

For more information call Momentum Academy Dance at 339-2008.

All who participate in the video are asked to wear a pink or white shirt.  Please no logos, just plain shirts.  For more information on Medline's Pink Glove Dance Competition or to see other videos go to www.pinkglovedance.com.

Scandals At Home And Abroad

Since my hip operation and time in recovery, I have tried to set aside things that are insignificant to me and to average Americans. Don't get me wrong here. What these people are doing (Bengahzi) is despicable be they left or right wing, and they have been doing it (both sides) for a long time. But the dirty deeds themselves carry little weight as to what they mean to you or me. ... (click for more)
