A woman was rescued Sunday morning after a fall on Stringer's Ridge.
The incident occurred around 8–9 a.m. Several people were apparently there when the woman reportedly fell down a steep embankment.
Chattanooga firefighters were called to the scene and they called in additional rescue personnel and equipment to get the victim up the embankment. Captain David Thompson, Jr. said the woman was entangled in tree limbs and other brush.
After setting up a rope system from the top, the woman was loaded into a Stokes basket and lifted to the top. The victim was then handed off to Hamilton County EMS, which transported her to a local hospital.
No information on her condition is available at this time.
Neighbors said they believe the woman was part of a group involved in illegal camping on the side of Stringer's Ridge.
