Well-known financial advisor Jim Place will speak “In Defense of Capitalism” at this month’s Chattanooga Tea Party meeting on Thursday, at 6:30 p.m.
The meeting will take place at The Century Club Banquet Hall, 3221 Harrison Pike (off Access Road, just south of the Highway 153-Amnicola Highway intersection, next to The Lighting Gallery).
Mr. Place is managing partner of Evergreen Advisors, LLC, and has served 29 years as a financial advisor. He has been a Certified Financial Planner designee since 1986. For the last 15 years, he has hosted Chattanooga’s most popular daily financial radio show, “Let’s Talk Money”, on WGOW 102.3 FM weekdays from 12-1 p.m. He has taught financial planning courses at both the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga as well as Chattanooga State Technical Community College.
Mr. Place completed two years of engineering at the United States Military Academy at West Point and graduated from Utah State in 1972 with a degree in political science. He has been married for 35 years to wife, Theresa.
