Tree Planting Applications Now Being Accepted

Monday, September 17, 2012

The Department of Neighborhood Services and Community Development announces the availability of funding for the Neighborhood Tree Planting Project (NTPP). The goal of the NTPP is to increase the tree canopy in Chattanooga to foster environmental health and contribute to the beauty of Chattanooga’s cityscape.

Neighborhood associations and neighborhood-based groups within the Chattanooga City limits are eligible to apply for NTPP’s funds, and may be limited by the quantity and the type of trees selected. A neighborhood association or neighborhood-based group is defined as a voluntary group of residents and/or property owners who advocate for common concerns or organize activities within defined neighborhood boundaries.

Organizations interested in applying for NTPP’s funds must complete the Tree Planting Application. Late and/or incomplete application plackets will not be accepted. The application deadline is Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 4 p.m.

Guidelines and applications are available at the Department of Neighborhood Services and Community Development on the 2nd Floor of City Hall or online at www.chattanooga.gov/neighborhood-services/department-programs.
