Three young people are facing burglary charges after a witness saw the burglary happening and got a tag number.
Police said Jeffrey Lamar Young, 19, of 713 N. Holly St.; Javares Crutcher, 18, of 3825 Hixson Pike, and Wade Humphrey, 21, of 1817 Wilcox Blvd. all admitted to the crime.
Officers said on Friday, Young and Crutcher kicked in the rear door of the residence of Audrey Lucas on Bennett Avenue. They ransacked the residence and took a diamond bracelet, three rings and three collector coins.
Police said they went behind the residence where Humphrey was waiting for them. They told him there was a TV inside and he told them he would buy it. Police said Young and Crutcher returned for the TV and loaded it into Humphrey's Ford Taurus.
They then drove to Humphrey's residence, where they were apprehended based on the sighting of the tag.
The stolen TV and coins were recovered.
