Ooltewah 4th Grade Students Participate In Constitution Week

Monday, September 17, 2012

In honor of the 225th anniversary of the signing of the United States Constitution, fourth grade students at Ooltewah Elementary School will participate in a Constitution Week event on Wednesday, Sept. 19 sponsored by the office of U.S. Senator Bob Corker, R-Tenn.

Claire McVay, Senator Corker’s area field representative, will lead an interactive presentation with students, showing a replica of the Constitution and discussing its importance in every American’s life.

Sen. Corker’s office is holding events across Tennessee during National Constitution Week, Sept. 17–23.

“I am still amazed by the wisdom our Founding Fathers showed in crafting such an elegant document that has provided the foundation for our government and our country for 225 years,” said Sen. Corker. “I hope the students who attend our Constitution Week events across the state come away wanting to learn more about our country’s history, values and system of government.”
