Homecoming Has Been Good To UTC's Russ Huesman

It's an important Saturday night of college football at Finley Stadium.

Sept. 22 - It's UTC Homecoming. - 6 p.m.

It's big, bad Appalachian State (1-2, 0-1) coming to town.

It's UTC coach Russ Huesman and his 10-0-1 Homecoming record as a player and head coach.

Also, Huesman is 3-1 vs. the Mountaineers as a player (1978-81), but 0-3 vs. Appalachian State as a head coach.

Something has to give come Saturday evening on the South Side in what many feel is a must win for the Mocs (1-2, 0-0) in the Southern Conference opener for the Blue and Gold.

Looking at the Homecoming ledger, coach Huesman is 4-0 in HC games as a player a Moeller High School (1974-77).  Huesman and company was 46-1-0 in four years with three state titlles.

As a player for UTC (1978-81), Huesman and company was 3-0-1, tying The Citadel, 28-28 in 1981

As a UTC head coach, Huesman is 3-0 with wins against Wofford, No.18 Georgia Southern and Western Carolina.
