a)              An ordinance granting unto Tennessee Temple University c/o Steven Echols a franchise for the construction of entry features along the 600-900 blocks of South Orchard Knob Avenue, (Case No. 2012-114), as shown on the maps attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference, subject to certain conditions.  (Districts 8 & 9.)

b)              MR-2012-103 Tennessee Temple University c/o Dennis Clark (Abandonment).  An ordinance closing and abandoning the 1800-1900 blocks of Vance Avenue, excluding the 600-900 blocks of South Orchard Knob Avenue, more particularly described herein, subject to certain conditions.  (Recommendation for approval by Public Works, Districts 9.)

c)              An ordinance approving a lease to Chattanooga Goodwill Industries, Inc., a nonprofit corporation, for a portion of property located at 1815 E. Main Street for a five (5) year term with Lessee responsible for utilities and compliance with annual reporting and appropriation requirements under federal, state and local law, at a value of $25,000.00 per year.

a)              An ordinance to amend Chattanooga City Code, Part II, Chapter 3, Sections 3-7 and 3-8, relative to sign permits.

b)              An ordinance to amend Chattanooga City Code, Part II, Chapter 7, relative to animals and fowl.

              An ordinance to amend Chattanooga City Code, Part II, Chapter 7, relative to animals and fowl.  (Consider Amended Version.)

c)              An ordinance to amend Ordinance No. 12626 encaptioned, “An ordinance to amend Chattanooga City Code, Part II, Article X, Chapter 24, Stopping, Standing and Parking, so as to create the Chattanooga Parking Authority to delegate certain duties to the Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) and to make certain other amendments as set forth herein, and to make certain further revisions to Article XIV, Chapter 24, Schedule V, as set forth herein.” so as to delay the operative date to October 22, 2012.  (Revised.)

VII.              Resolutions:

a)              A resolution to amend Resolution No. 27001 so as to amend the agreement with Terracon to complete the necessary assessments for the requirements of the EPA Brownfield Grant in order to increase the amount by more than $1,000.00, for a total project cost in the amount of $221,600.00.  (Revised.)

b)              A resolution authorizing Jaroslav Tyman to use temporarily the right-of-way located along a portion of Woolson Road and Lloyd Street for access to private property, Lot 1 and Lot 577, Jeff Davis Addition to Mission Ridge, Plat Book 9, Page 36 ROHC, Tax Map Nos. 137H-J-007 and 137H-J-013, as shown on the maps and drawings attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference, subject to certain conditions.  (District 5.)

c)              A resolution authorizing the Chattanooga Hamilton County Regional Planning Agency to undertake a land use planning process for the Summit area.  (Added by permission of Council Chairwoman Ladd.)

b)              MR-2012-101 ARS, LLC (Abandonment).  An ordinance closing and abandoning of the unit block of East Manning Street beginning at its intersection with the west line of the 300 block of Woodland Avenue to the east line of the 300 block of North Market Street; an unopened alley beginning at the unit block of East Manning Street to its intersection with the 400 block of North Market Street; and an unopened alley beginning at its intersection with the south line of the unit block of East Manning to the north line of the unit block of East Kent Street, more particularly described herein, subject to certain conditions.  (Recommended for approval by Public Works, District 1.)

7.              Resolutions:

a)              A resolution authorizing payment of 2013 membership dues for the National League of Cities in the amount of $10,610.00.

b)              A resolution authorizing the Chief of the Chattanooga Fire Department to apply for and, if awarded, accept a Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation Grant to purchase two Hurst e-Draulics S-700E cutter packages that will be assigned to existing squad trucks to aid in cutting high-strength steel used in new car models, in the amount of $17,500.00.

c)              A resolution authorizing the Administrator of Education, Arts, and Culture to solicit funding for the Civic Facilities according to the attached Strategic Fundraising Plan for 2012-2013.

d)              A resolution authorizing Hixson Chamber of Commerce c/o Marv Martin to use temporarily the right-of-way of four (4) separate locations to install a sign located at 6025 Highway 153, 5104 Highway 153, 3850 Hixson Pike, and 506 Ashland Terrace, as shown on the map attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference, subject to certain conditions.  (District 2.)

e)              MR-2012-079 City of Chattanooga c/o Dan Thornton.  A resolution declaring surplus of an area next to Tax Map No. 146N-F-012 containing 0.27 acres and authorizing conveyance to HealthSouth of a maintained area between McCallie and Bailey, subject to any future need of right-of-way on the subject property at no cost to the City, and if required for road improvements, the City will restore any infrastructure at HealthSouth’s expense.  (District 7.)

Dalton Police Seek Suspect In Motorcycle Theft

The Dalton Police Department is asking for help from the public in identifying a suspect in the April theft of a motorcycle from the parking lot of an area credit union. The incident was recorded by surveillance cameras, but only the van used in the crime was captured. The suspects could not be seen. What these people are doing (Bengahzi) is despicable be they left or right wing, and they have been doing it (both sides) for a long time. Stuart, Marchant Win Chattanooga Chase 8K Titles Saturday

The humidity was high but the temperature abnormally low as the oldest race in Chattanooga took place in Riverview Saturday morning. A super-fast group of UTC cross country and track runners dominated the men’s race while a former UTC standout in both sports did the same among the females. East Hamilton Soccer Advances To Class A/AA State Tournament

The East Hamilton boys soccer team punched their ticket to the Class A/AA state tournament in Murfreesboro next week for the second time in school history.  The Hurricanes scored three second-half goals to beat CCS 4-0.   East Hamilton's advanced to the Class A/AA state tournament in 2011.  The won their quarterfinal match with White House but then fell to Kingsbury ...
