Chattanooga Chili At Chattanooga Market Sunday

The Chattanooga Chili event will be at Chattanooga Market on Sunday.  It's both a chili competition and sampling event with several varieties and with $1 samples for the public or $4 for a bowl of chili.   

One Chattanooga Market vendor, Link 41, will be serving chili made with their local artisan and cured meats.  All meats from Link 41 come from local farms and are freshly processed.  

Spicy, smokey or mild - there will be plenty of flavors to choose from with a variety of additional local chili vendors on site.  Chili competition winners will be announced at the end of the event at 4 p.m. Categories include most popular, most unique and judge's favorite.

Live music on the EPB stage for Sunday will be Dustin Overbeek at 12 p.m., Sabrina at 1:30 p.m. and Tin Cup Gypsy at 3 p.m.  Bios and photos of musicians can be found at ChattanoogaMarket.com, as well as other weekly information.


Whitfield County Government Offices Holiday Schedule

Whitfield County government offices will be closed Wednesday through Friday for Christmas holidays and will reopen Monday.  The offices will also be closed Thursday, Jan. 1, for New Year’s Day. (click for more)

Northwest Georgia’s Unemployment Rate Falls To 6.4 Percent In November

The Georgia Department of Labor announced Thursday that the unemployment rate in the Northwest Georgia region was 6.4 percent in November, down six-tenths of a percentage point from 7.0 percent in October. Man Stabbed Multiple Times In MLK Boulevard Disorder

A man was stabbed multiple times in a disorder on MLK Boulevard on Thursday afternoon. At approximately 4:06 p.m., the Chattanooga Police Department responded to a stabbing at 300 E. MLK Boulevard.
