Simpson Charged With Robbing Man At Gunpoint, Knocking Out Teeth

  • Tuesday, September 25, 2012

Police have charged Clinton Travis Simpson with putting a gun to the back of a man's head, taking his money and then knocking four of his teeth out.

Simpson, 23, of 3202 E. Gordon St., is charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated assault.

In an incident last Wednesday, Steven Nation said he and his girlfriend, Jamie Pierce, were at a car wash on Rossville Boulevard when they met a person they knew as "20". He said he gave "20" a ride to look at a car he was thinking about buying.

While on the way, he said the passenger pulled out a small gray pistol with a black handle and put it to his head. He said he was told to pull over in the 2300 block of Gifford Street.

He said he was ordered out of the car and was relieved of $870 and a bottle of oxycodone.

The suspect then struck him in the mouth.

Police said it was discovered that the true name of "20" is Travis Simpson. He was identified from a lineup by both Nation and Ms. Pierce.
