Erlanger Offers Classes And Events For Oct. 1-4

The Erlanger schedule of classes and events for Oct. 1-4 includes a variety of HealthLink Plus fitness opportunities, weight management and family planning classes. Call Erlanger HealthLink at 778-LINK (5465), Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.  HealthLink Plus is a free membership program open to adults 18 and older. 

Monday, Oct. 1

Bariatric Support Group
5:30-6:30 p.m.
Chattanooga Lifestyle Center
Bariatric Support Group meetings are for individuals scheduled to have Bariatric surgery or who have already had weight loss surgery.

Wednesday Oct. 3

Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Seminar
6-8 p.m.
Erlanger Baroness (Oncology Conference Room)
Area residents who are overweight and /or with health problems related to obesity are invited to learn more about the Bariatric andMetabolic Surgery Center at Erlanger.  It is a free seminar and registration is required.  Call Erlanger’s HealthLink at 778-LINK (5465) to register.

Thursday, Oct. 4

Life After Loss Support Group
Begins at 1 p.m.
Erlanger Baroness (Oncology Conference Room)
This support group is for those who have lost a loved one due to cancer.  For more information, call 778-5119.

Diabetes Education Class
1:30-4:30 p.m.
Chattanooga Lifestyle Center
This class, which takes place on Mondays and Thursdays, will explore ways to manage diabetes.  Call 778-9400 for more information on physician referral and insurance reimbursement.

Man to Man Support Group
Begins at 5:30 p.m.
Erlanger Baroness (Cancer Center)
This support group is for spouses, friends and patients who have prostate cancer.  For more information, call 778-5119.

Highland Park Woman Helped Solve Mystery Of Gas Thief

Police said a Highland Park woman helped crack a mystery about a rash of recent gasoline thefts involving the cutting of expensive gas lines. Thomas Bouch was arrested after Bridgitte Brody told of looking out a window of her house last Thursday and seeing a white male standing by a 24-seat van at Tennessee Temple University. Attorneys Argue Whether Former Sheriff Long Should Get A Further Cut In His Sentence
