9 Arrests Made In Synthetic Drug Undercover Investigation

With the growing concern of synthetic drug use, the Chattanooga Police Narcotics unit, after a four-month undercover investigation, searched area smoke shops for synthetic drugs, on Tuesday. Four area stores were investigated and synthetic drugs with an estimated value of $250,000 were seized. Officers seized synthetic marijuana, synthetic cocaine, synthetic mushrooms and drug paraphernalia. 

The stores that were involved in this investigation were Bikers Emporium, 5829 Lee Highway, The Pipe One Store, 6215 Lee Highway Suite #119, The Smoke One Store, 2101 McCallie Ave., and The Smoke Stack, 5012 Highway 58.

There were also nine arrests made during the investigation:

Christopher Wright, 40

Forrest Anez, 29

Diana Anez, 27

Jose Aguilar, 47

Maria Ibarra, 41

Ronald Cameron, 40

Tommy Dean, 41

This case is pending and the investigation is continuing.


Former Nurse Charged With Stealing Drugs

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics and Special Operations charged Shannon Rene Williams,  a former nurse at Parkridge Hospital East with 10 counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud and one count of felony theft.
