ElderScholars Meeting Is Oct. 9

Area residents, 55 or older, are invited to the October ElderScholars meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 9, in the Lookout Mountain Room at the UTC University Center at 1 p.m.  

Dr. Mary Headrick, Democratic candidate for the Third Congressional District, will speak on behalf of the Barack Obama campaign. There will also be a lunch around noon in the University Center Cafeteria. There will be an ElderScholars sign on the table in the food court.


Tennessee Highway Patrol Steps Up Seat Belt, DUI Enforcement For Memorial Day Weekend

The Tennessee Highway Patrol will step up seat belt and DUI enforcement efforts over the Memorial Day holiday weekend. The THP also encourages all motorists to drive safely during the 78-hour period. CARTA Announces Memorial Day Schedule

In observance of Memorial Day, CARTA’s fixed route and Downtown Shuttle buses will operate on Saturday schedules on Monday. The CARTA Care-a-van will also be operating on a holiday schedule. Head Of BB&T's Chattanooga Commercial Banking Operations To Plead Guilty To Making Fraudulent Loans

The head of BB&T's Chattanooga commercial banking operations has been charged by federal authorities with making fraudulent loans. Tracy Brown is set to plead guilty to bank fraud on June 4.
