UTC Theatre will present Antigone in the Dorothy Hackett Ward Theatre, Tuesday, Oct. 2, through Saturday, Oct. 6, at 7:30 p.m., along with a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, Oct. 6.
In the final episode of Sophocles’ Theban Plays, the last daughter of Oedipus, Antigone, perilously defies Thebes’ powerful ruler, Creon, in an act of civil disobedience. Director Mac Smotherman calls the classic Greek tragedy “powerful. The play speaks to audiences through its tense and urgent action.”
