Police Blotter: Climbing Thief Gets Items From Fairmount Avenue Unit

Police said a burglar had to do some climbing to get inside one of the Chattanooga Housing Authority's new apartments on Fairmount Avenue in North Chattanooga.

The thief apparently climbed up to the second-floor level and got in the unit of Aronnae McReynolds.

She is missing her 32" TV, black laptop computer and Comcast cable box.

CHA was also hit at its Holtzclaw Avenue location.

There was a burglary in the maintenance building with four Kenwood two-way radios and four AM/FM/CD radios taken.

There was a report of conflict on 14th Avenue.

A "suspect" began yelling obscenities at David Fox and hit him in the mouth. The victim walked back home and he was approached by the suspect (carrying a metal pole) and three others.

The victim was hit in the back, and a female was grabbed by the hair, sprayed in the face with mace and punched in the face.

The victim had a busted lip and red marks on his back, and the female's face was swollen.

At Chattanooga Motors on Lee Highway a black male who was with a woman whose car was being repossessed apparently saw a $150 payment being placed in a drawer.

The business turned up $150 short that night.

A video showed the man reaching into the drawer for the cash.

Deborah Wilson of E. 4th Street said she woke up and found that someone had dumped the contents of her garbage can all over her yard.

There was white paint in the yard and on the front steps.

Several flower pots were knocked over and the front porch swing was moved.

She suspects a man she recently had words with.

Jordan Riggin of Bailey Avenue came home from school and saw that someone had knocked out a passenger window on his car.

The thief got his IPod and charger.

The window will cost the student $300 to fix and the IPod was worth $200.

Linda Joyce Smith of Woodland View Circle heard the sound of gunfire.

She found three bullet holes in the columns of her front porch.

She saw a black male enter a light-colored sedan and then drive away.

Eve Jaynes of McFarland Avenue called police to say that her gardener (who works for free) is too noisy when he mows.

An officer advised Ms. Jaynes to either buy ear plugs or get a quieter gardener.

A lawsuit has been filed in Federal Court against the city of Dayton by a woman whose husband was killed while taking part in a motorcade through Dayton.
