Jericho Brass Opens 15th Season On The Mountain

Chattanooga's own award-winning traditional brass band, Jericho Brass, will open this year's concert season with a performance at the Signal Mountain Baptist Church, 939 Ridgeway Ave., on Sunday, Sept. 23, at 6:30 p.m. This concert is free and open to the public. 

The program will feature Candice Kortyka, a local realtor, on solo cornet performing “ 'Tis the Last Rose of Summer”.

   Other selections on the program include “Radetzky March”, “Army of the Nile March” and “Hope Variations.”

The Jericho Brass has been serving Chattanooga and surrounding areas since 1998 with their rousing and inspirational brass music.  Winner of the George Washington Honor Medal, in 2010,  from the Freedoms Foundation of Valley Forge for the original composition “Defenders of Liberty” by Dan Hanson with narration by Skip Houck.  The band has made two tours to England and has traveled extensively around the South Eastern United States. 

Jericho Brass is under the direction of Frank Hale and associate director, Dan Bowles with support by the Salvation Army Citadel Corps. on North Moore Road.
