Firefighters from all over the state gathered at the Tennessee Fire and Codes Enforcement Academy in Bell Buckle, Tn., to compete in the Tennessee Ultimate Fire Firefighter (TUFF) Challenge. On Saturday, firefighters from the Chattanooga Fire Department and the Cleveland Fire Department dominated most of the competition.
The Cleveland team won first place in the Paid Team Competition and the Chattanooga team won first place in the Pro Team Competition. (The Pro Team Competition is for firefighters who have competed in national competitions, such as the Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge.)
Here are the results in the individual competitions:
- Jason Pennel with Cleveland won third place in the Paid Individual competition.
- Drew Rader with Cleveland won first in the Paid Individual competition.
- Richard Leisnewski with Cleveland won first place in the 40 and above category.
- Daryl Horn with Chattanooga won second place in the Pro Individual competition.
- Eric Stone with Chattanooga won fist place in the Pro Individual competition. It is the fourth year in a row Mr. Stone has won that top honor.
