Middle Valley Church of God, at 1703 Thrasher Pike in Hixson, continues its adopted theme for 2012, "Involving Ourselves in 2012." This theme will guide all ministry efforts.
In conjunction with this theme, Pastor Mitch McClure will continue a new series of sermons titled, "It's Rough Out There" on Sunday. Pastor McClure will speak on the topic "Some Minor Issues Are Actually Major!" in the 10:30 a.m. service on Sunday.
Pastor McClure said, "Opinions vary. This is a fact that no one should even attempt to deny.
The Word of God is true and never varies. It does not vary in application from one person to the next. It does not vary in relevance in life. With this being said, the church is to communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our world. The church must not change the truths of God's Word as a cultural shift. The church must remain true to the Word of God. The church must lead the way in working to accomplish the goals established by Jesus Christ. I believe the church has the greatest opportunity to minister in 2012 more than any other time in history. Our challenge is to accept what God has called us to do."
Pastor McClure will lead the church in a prayer focused service on Sunday, in the 6:30 p.m. service.
In addition to the Sunday worship times, Sunday School is offered with classes for all age groupings at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday. As well, Family Training Hour is offered each Wednesday at 7 p.m. with classes for all age groupings. Presently, Pastor McClure is leading a Bible study on the topic, "Where Is God?" This interactive study is conducted in the administrative classroom of the church. All are invited to participate in all the opportunities of Middle Valley Church of God.
Middle Valley Church of God continues community ministry since 1946. For additional information, please contact Pastor Mitch McClure at 423 843-1539.
