LaFayette Downtown Development Authority is hosting its next free “Movie in the Park Night” on Saturday, at Joe Stock Memorial Park.
The movie, which is the third in a series of films to be shown in downtown LaFayette, will begin at approximately 9 p.m. The park is at the intersection of Wardlaw Street and North Main Street.
This recent blockbuster film is based on the first in a trilogy of young adult books by Suzanne Collins.
The movie, set in the post-apocalyptic nation of Panem, features Jennifer Lawrence as 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who competes in a televised battle-to-the-death until only one competitor remains alive. The movie is rated PG-13.
The DDA is sponsoring the series of events to encourage people to visit downtown and support local businesses.
Families are encouraged to bring their own blankets or chairs to sit in while enjoying the film.
For the name of the movie, visit the Face Book page for One Eleven Restaurant, Chattooga Academy or the City of LaFayette.
