Rally Day will be observed Sunday, at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 400 Glenwood Drive.
The Christian Nurture Commission will provide a continental breakfast from 10-11 a.m. in the parlor to kick off the new Sunday School year for Adult Education, Children's Sunday School and worship.
A Young Adult Discussion Group will meet at 9:30 a.m. for a conversation about evangelism, led by Patrick Hawley and Adel DeGuzman. Coffee and bagels will be provided.
Adult Education classes for the month of September will be "Understanding the Faith of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints." The topic for Sunday will be "Joseph Smith and the Founding of the Mormon Faith," led by Dr. Nancy Schurr, a professoof history at UT Knoxville.
Dr. Dave Brown will speak at the 11 a.m. worship service on "Is This Chuch Going to the Dogs," with text from Mark 7:24-30.
The Women's Guild will meet Tuesday, for a luncheon meeting at 11:30 a.m at The Chop House on Gunbarrel Road.
Recent visitors to Pilgrim are invited to join the pastor for a pizza supper on Friday, Sept. 14, at 6 p.m. to get better acquainted and discuss any questions about the church. Children are included. Plsese RSVP to the church office.
