Benefit For Tommy Jett Is Saturday

Thursday, September 06, 2012

A special benefit for Tommy Jett will be at the Zan Guerry Clubhouse & Gardens at The Manker Patten Tennis Club, 100 Douglas St., Chattanooga, on Saturday, at 7:30 p.m.

Featured entertainment will be by The Beaters, with Jimmy Tawater, Thom Cavin, Charley Yates and Summer Hullender also performing.

Organizers said, "Tommy was involved in a near-fatal automobile accident in April and has suffered since then because of injuries received and not being given the medical help that he really needed. He has been in three different hospitals, two therapeutic care centers, and is now at home with two therapist coming four times a week, and, being fed through a tube into his stomach. He is getting better each day and we are hoping for a full recovery, although it may take a while. Meanwhile, he is continuing to run up medical bills that his Medicare and supplemental insurance won’t cover."

"We have been donated the Zan Guerry Clubhouse for that night along with generous donations from Carter Distributing, Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Dodge City Liquors, The Dinner Bell, The Walker County Sheriff’s Office, Constantine Carpet, and the generous time of a handful of volunteers.

"Due to the capacity limitations at the Zan Guerry Clubhouse, we can only have 150 attendees – that’s guest, musicians, host, workers, and of course, Tommy and Charlene. We have available only 125 tickets which we are asking a $50, or more, donation for. That would give us a minimum amount of $6,250 that would go toward Tommy’s bills.

"We invite you to come and enjoy this wonderful night with us at this beautiful clubhouse and gardens on the banks of the Tennessee River. If you can’t come that night, please consider buying a couple of tickets for a friend, or, make a donation for this very important cause. Tommy has donated so much of himself to this community over the past 50+ years and he deserves our help in this time of need."

Please go online at tommyjett.com to purchase tickets, or call Alvin Worley at 423 593-0748 and purchase the tickets through him.

Thanks, Sheriff

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Department is very responsive and professional out in Apison, and I appreciate that.  We have some fine deputies serving Hamilton County.    I took a minute to call and tell them thank you, I hope my neighbors will also. Brian Wood Apison (click for more)
