Hamilton Place Hosts Fashions Night Out Thursday

Thursday, September 06, 2012

Since its 2009 genesis in New York by Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and Diane von Furstenburg, president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), Fashion’s Night Out has grown to be represented in all 50 states as well as over 20 other countries.

Beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday, Hamilton Place invites shoppers to take part in an evening of fashion and represent Tennessee in this unprecedented global party. Although the venue for the party is a familiar one, the line-up of events occurring both in and out of stores is sure to provide an evening at the mall unlike any other. Select stores will feature unique events, food, and promotions throughout the evening.

Shoppers at Hamilton Place will be invited to support several local organizations in a variety of ways. The Chattanooga Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure will be featuring samples from Piccadilly, Bar Louie, and Red Robin. Additionally, for a donation, attendees can have their picture taken with family and friends, and enter for your chance to win a Chattanooga StayCation featuring  tickets to the Tennessee Aquarium, Creative Discovery Museum, a night at the Sheraton Read House, Wildwater Rafting and Zip line tickets, River Gorge Explorer, plus gift certificates to local restaurants.

The Samaritan Center will set-up a “Christmas Toyland” display where  shoppers can shop for clothing items for children in need this holiday season.

Chattanooga Cares will feature live music from local performers including Jordan Halquist. CARES will also host a Fashion Hunt featuring a handful of Hamilton Place stores with the winner receiving gift cards and prizes from select participating stores. Donations are appreciated upon entry in the Fashion Hunt.

Shoppers are also asked to bring along vintage fashion magazines and be entered to win a $50 mall gift card.   All donated magazines will be given to Hamilton County Art Teachers to provide inspiration for students participating in a county wide art competition “The Evolution of Fashion” which kicks off in September.

Participating retailers include:  Sephora, J. Jill, Dillard’s, Belk, White House | Black Market, Ann Taylor, ALDO, Banana Republic, Bare Escentuals, Charming Charlie, Coach, Coldwater Creek, Express, Forever 21, Fossil, Talbots, Tommy Hilfiger, New York & Company and Victoria’s Secret.
