Buffet, Class Information Sunday At Signal Mountain Presbyterian

The Cornerstone Cafe at Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church, 612 James Blvd., Signal Mountain, will be open Sunday, for a buffet breakfast in the Great Hall from 9-10:15 a.m. ,and to explore Sunday morning adult class offerings for the new church year. Angel Wings Cafe for children ages four years through fifth grade will be open at the same time for a light breakfast. Breakfast will not be provided for nursery-aged children. Family Night will resume Wednesday, for a four-week family study series on "Jonah and the Family," led by the Rev. Andy Cornett. Dinner is at 5:30 p.m. and the program at 6:30 p.m.

Heart Rhythms 2012, a fall gathering for women, "Knowing Contentment in a Restless World," will be held Saturday, Sept. 22, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. There will be four seminars, to be taught by Kathy Morgan, Joani Jack, Julia Perez and Jean Smith. St. Timothy's Holds Family Mission Camp

Dog Fighting Operation Uncovered On Talledega Avenue

TBI was executing a narcotics search warrant at 6302Talladega Ave. in Chattanooga on Friday and uncovered a dog fighting operation. Officials said it consisted of numerous pit bills, a fight ring, a treadmill and blood-stained carpets and paneling. Mcckamey Animal Services personnel were processing the fight scene. City May Move Forward On $47 Million Wilcox Tunnel Project

City officials may move forward on a $47 million project to upgrade the narrow Wilcox Tunnel through Missionary Ridge. The City Council on Tuesday is to consider a resolution to apply for a $25 million federal TIGER grant. The city would still have to come up with $21,825,000 through "local funds or grants."
