Community Auditions To Be Held For Ballet Tennessee's Nutcracker

Community auditions for Ballet Tennessee’s Nutcracker will be held on Friday, Sept. 14, and Saturday, Sept. 15, at VanCura Ballet Conservatory for children’s roles for the production of Nutcracker.  

Children’s roles in the 2011 production include Victorian children in Act I Party Scene, Toy Soldiers in the Act I Soldier/Mouse Battle, Act II Child and Guardian Angels, Act II Mother McGinger Children; Reindeer in the Act I Snow Scene, Act II Attendants for Chinese and Arabian, and brand new roles for children in Act II. 

Friday will have two auditions from 6-7 p.m. for boys and girls ages six to eight and from 7:15-8:30 p.m. for boys and girls ages nine-12. Saturday’s audition will be from 1:30-3:30 p.m. for boys and girls ages 11 and up.  

Any adults interested in Nutcracker roles such as Victorian parents in Act I Party Scene, Mice in the Act I Soldier/Mouse Battle, Act II Mother McGinger, and various other roles are more than welcome to come to the Saturday audition from 1:30-3:30 p.m.. 

Nutcracker’s performances will be Dec. 14-16 at the Hayes Concert Hall at UTC Fine Arts Center.
