Pritchett, William L. (Cleveland)

William L. “Bill” Pritchett, 77, of Cleveland, TN, passed away early Friday morning, September 7, 2012 in a local hospital. 

Mr. Pritchett was the son of the late Lola Clayton Pritchett and John W. Pritchett. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Navy and the U. S. Army. Mr. Pritchett worked in Maintenance most of his life and he retired from the Bradley Health Care and Rehab Center. He was an avid sports fan especially football and he enjoyed shooting pool. Mr. Pritchett was a member of the Cleveland Christian Fellowship Church.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Owenby Pritchett of Cleveland; his sister, Patsy King and her husband Kenneth; his brother, Larry Pritchett and his wife Martha all of Cleveland; his sister-in-law, Betty Bryant of Cleveland; his brothers-in-law, Carl Owenby and his wife Dorthea of Maryville and Robert Owenby and his wife Betsy of Cleveland; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Monday, September 10 at 2 p.m. from the North Ocoee Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor Herbert Conley officiating. Interment will follow in the Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. 

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, September 9 at the North Ocoee Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes who has charge of the arrangements.

Slaughter, Keenan Scott (Jasper)

Keenan Scott Slaughter, 52, of Jasper, TN, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed Slaughter and Millie Duvall Sloan. He was an employee of Lowes Home Improvement Store in Kimball, TN. William "Bill" Wills Dowdy

William “Bill” Wills Dowdy, 82, died on May 23, at Community Care of Rutherford County in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, following a very brief illness. He was born Jan. 1, 1931, in Brownsville, Tn., to the late Arvil Odell Dowdy and Alma Juanita Bright Dowdy. Bill was a graduate of Red Bank High School. Woman Killed In Early-Morning Wreck On Thrasher Pike

A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the 1200 block of Thrasher Pike early Saturday morning. Soddy Daisy Police Chief Phillip Hamrick said a female passenger was ejected from the vehicle. She was transported to Erlanger Hospital by LifeForce helicopter about 3:15 a.m. The driver was transported by Hamilton County EMS. It is believed he had non-life threatening injuries. ... City May Move Forward On $47 Million Wilcox Tunnel Project

City officials may move forward on a $47 million project to upgrade the narrow Wilcox Tunnel through Missionary Ridge. The City Council on Tuesday is to consider a resolution to apply for a $25 million federal TIGER grant. The city would still have to come up with $21,825,000 through "local funds or grants."
