Police have charged two men with aggravated burglary after one of them, 20-year-old John Amos Hughley, was found riding a stolen bicycle.
On Wednesday, Daphne Stargin said her residence on S. Orchard Knob Avenue was burglarized. She said a bicycle was taken along with a 42" Toshiba TV and a 32" Sanyo TV.
The front door of her home was forced open in the theft of $1,100 in items.
Less than an hour after the break-in, Officer L. Davis apprehended Hughley riding the stolen bicycle.
Hughley told police he had taken one of the stolen TVs to his girlfriend's house at 1709 Oak St. The stolen TV was recovered there.
Hughley said the other TV was at the home of the other person involved in the burglary, Robert L. Boone, 45. Police went to 1805 Chamberlain Ave. and found that TV in the trunk of his Lincoln Town Car.
Hughley said Boone drove the white Lincoln to the scene of the burglary and helped him with dropping off one TV at the girlfriend's.
