Neyland To Be Site Of ESPN's GameDay For 8th Time

Tennessee's Neyland Stadium will be the site of the ESPN College GameDay this Saturday as the No. 23 Vols host Florida in the next chapter of the storied rivalry.

College GameDay will air live at 9 a.m. ET on ESPNU and 10 a.m. on ESPN with host Chris Fowler, analysts Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and David Pollack, and host/reporter Samantha Steele.

This will be the eighth time Tennessee has hosted GameDay. Saturday will mark the first time since 2004 that GameDay will be broadcast from Knoxville. The last time the show originated from Neyland on Oct. 2, 2004 when the No. 10 Vols hosted No. 8 Auburn. All-time, GameDay has previously broadcast from Knoxville seven times:

This will be the fourth time GameDay will be broadcast from the Florida at Tennessee game in Knoxville. Three additional times, GameDay was hosted for the Tennessee at Florida game in Gainesville.

The Tennessee-Florida rivalry is tied for the second-most coveted rivalry in GameDay history, dating to its inception in 1993. Only the Florida-Florida State rivalry has been featured more often, eight times. Ohio State-Penn State has also been covered seven times.

The Vols have also played in 10 road or neutral site games that were the location of the show. Tennessee last played in a GameDay game in 2006 when the Vols played at Arkansas on Nov. 11, 2006. Two weeks prior to that Tennessee's win at South Carolina was the backdrop for GameDay from Columbia, S.C.

With 18 overall appearances, the Vols among the top 10 schools featured on GameDay all-time. With eight hostings, UT will be tied for fifth-most.

A 20-year-old man was shot twice while standing on his porch on Monday night. At approximately 8:44 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a shooting that occurred in the 1900 block of Walker Street.
