Dorothy Oliver
Dorothy Norma Oliver, 92, of Chattanooga, died on January 10, 2013 in Cleveland, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Oliver; sisters, Stevie Martin, Jo Sloan, Mable Moore, Lillian Vandergriff, Julia Gibson; and grandson, Matthew Oliver.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Frank and Brinda Bromley, of Cleveland, and son and daughter-in-law, Mickey and Sue Ann Oliver, of Loganville, Ga.; four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Margie Morrell, of San Antonio, Tx.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was retired from Sears after 30 plus years of service. She taught Sunday School and was active in choir and visitation ministry of her church for many years. She was currently attending First Baptist Church of Cleveland.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 12, at 4 p.m., following visitation from 2-4 p.m. at the Chattanooga Funeral Home East Chapel, with her son, Reverend Mickey Oliver, and her grandson, Reverend Michael Liner, officiating. Burial will be Monday, Jan. 14, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “Matthew’s Place” (a ministry in Romania to young men named in memory of Dorothy’s grandson Matthew Oliver), c/o New Testament Baptist Church, P.O. Box 897, Loganville, Ga. 30052.
