The Fair Tax

Friday, January 11, 2013

Would you support a national income tax system that is ready for immediate implementation, is capable of providing the necessary revenue to fund our national government, begin to pay down our crushing national debt , and is vastly simpler than the current system?

This plan is fair, simple and universal in application, with no exceptions or exclusions.

It provides a means for each individual or family to obtain essential goods and services free of tax.

It fosters economic growth and efficiency.

It fully funds the government.

I am talking about HR 25/S13 "The Fair Tax Act".

The Fair Tax, when implemented, would:

1. Tax consumption instead of production.  It will eliminate all taxes on income (this means you get to take home your gross pay).

2. Level the competitive playing field between imported and domestically produced goods.

3. Provide essential goods and services up to the poverty level tax-free.  Those below the poverty level would pay no tax on these items.

4. Be revenue neutral.

The Fair Tax is an idea whose time has come.  I urge you to find out more at FairTax.org

Senator David Perdue: I Have Heard Every Excuse Under The Sun

Here we go again. For the 19th consecutive year, Washington has not funded the federal government on time. As the current continuing resolution is expiring in the midnight hour, Congress is once again trying to pass a temporary fix three months after the beginning of the current fiscal year. This is ridiculous. In fact, Congress has only completed the full budget process four ... (click for more)

Silence From Rhonda Thurman

I find it deplorable that Rhonda Thurman is, once again, voicing her opinions so quickly and so vehemently.  She seems to be the one school board member that wants media and/or press coverage every time the opportunity avails itself.  However, when it comes to responding to personal emails sent directly to her…she zips her lips. I, as all of the citizens of Hamilton ... (click for more)

CSAS Gets Defensive In Win Over Boyd-Buchanan

High school basketball is still in the early stages of the 2016-17 season, but CSAS coach Mark Dragoo is already seeing improvement from his team and they’ve only played four games. The Patriots are always a good team with lots of quick, athletic players who can shoot well and play sticky defense. That was the case on Friday night at Boyd-Buchanan as the Patriots shot well ... Bradley Girls Stave Off Stone Memorial's Upset Bid, 48-46

The Bradley Central Bearettes’ ninth straight win to open the high school basketball season was their toughest to date. The Bearettes got a game-winning field goal from junior standout Rhyne Howard – on an assist by Halle Hughes – with no time left on the clock for a 48-46 non-district victory over stubborn Stone Memorial at Jim Smiddy Arena on Friday night. After a turnover ... (click for more)
