The Fair Tax

Friday, January 11, 2013

Would you support a national income tax system that is ready for immediate implementation, is capable of providing the necessary revenue to fund our national government, begin to pay down our crushing national debt , and is vastly simpler than the current system?

This plan is fair, simple and universal in application, with no exceptions or exclusions.

It provides a means for each individual or family to obtain essential goods and services free of tax.

It fosters economic growth and efficiency.

It fully funds the government.

I am talking about HR 25/S13 "The Fair Tax Act".

The Fair Tax, when implemented, would:

1. Tax consumption instead of production.  It will eliminate all taxes on income (this means you get to take home your gross pay).

2. Level the competitive playing field between imported and domestically produced goods.

3. Provide essential goods and services up to the poverty level tax-free.  Those below the poverty level would pay no tax on these items.

4. Be revenue neutral.

The Fair Tax is an idea whose time has come.  I urge you to find out more at FairTax.org
