Opal Mae Pressley, 86, of East Brainerd, died on January 11, 2013 at her son’s residence in East Ridge.  

She was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga where she was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.  She retired from Rossville Yarns in 2000 with 27 years of service.  After her retirement, she worked for the America’s Thrift Store for six years.  She enjoyed the outdoors especially working in her yard and gardening.  Her passions in life were her family, church, and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Pressley; daughter, Christine Campbell; daughter-in-law, Shirley Pressley; sisters, Ruby Bidwell and Lela Pressley; and brother, Charles Cranfield.

Survivors include her son, David Pressley of East Ridge; sisters, Betty Hubbard of Oak Ridge, Tn., and Wilma Pressley of Rossville; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 14, at 3 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Reverend Marvin Fowler officiating.

Interment will follow in the Lakewood South Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, Jan. 13, from 4-8 p.m., and Monday from noon until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
