Patricia Ann Langston, 65, of Cloudland, GA, passed away Friday, January 11, 2013, at her residence following an extended illness.  

A native of Chattooga County, GA, she was born to the late Kirby Smith and Jimmie Sue Green Smith who survives.  Mrs. Langston was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Langston; daughters, Josie Burrage and Cindy Tishaw; great-granddaughter, Alyssa Freeman; and brother, Kenneth Smith.

Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Margie & Don Dabney and April & Stephen Fowler; son and daughter-in-law Scotty & Misty Langston; mother, Jimmie Sue Smith; sister, Peggy Baty; brother and sister-in-law, Tony & Gloria Smith all of Cloudland; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 14, at 1:30 p.m. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Wright officiating. Interment will follow in AMI Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Allen Langston, Chris Fowler, Jason Tishaw, Paul Derring, Tristan Smith, Willis Gallaway and Phil Green. Honorary pallbearers are the Cloudland Community. 

Visitation will be Sunday, January 13 from 6-9 p.m. at the Earle Rainwater Funeral Home who has charge of the arrangements.

Doris “Janell” Davenport, 70, of Dalton, Georgia, died on Saturday May 2, 2015 at the local hospital. Doris A. Fulbright, 72, of Benton, TN, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015 at her residence. She retired as a dietician clerk from Bradley Memorial Hospital after 27 years of service. Only 2 Bradley County Commissioners Support 30-Cent Wheel Tax

After a lengthy debate, only two members of the Bradley County Commission voted in favor of a 30-cent wheel tax on Monday night. The measure needed 10 votes to pass. Several commissioners said a wheel tax would have certainly brought on a petition for a referendum and then defeat at the polls. Agent Says Drug-Selling Traffic Was So Brisk Outside Brainerd Pill Mill That A Guard Was Necessary

An IRS agent testified Monday that so much drug peddling was going on outside a Brainerd "pill mill" that the owner had to hire a security guard.
