Alan Downey Thomas, 66, of Red Bank, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 13, 2013.  

Alan was a member of Red Bank Presbyterian Church and was a former employee of Combustion Engineering.  He enjoyed fishing and collecting model cars and going the local drag races.

He was the son of the late Hubert and Margaret Downey Thomas.

Survivors include his sons, Jason (Marie) Thomas of Red Bank and Kevin (Bri) Thomas of Soddy Daisy; brother, David Thomas of Hixson; and three grandchildren, Bradley Thomas, Sarah Thomas and Chloe Thomas.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17, at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace with Reverend Everett Gossett officiating.  Entombment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.  

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16, and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Thursday at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace, 877-3524.

A Chattanooga man was stabbed to death after an argument on Friday night.
