Longtime Security Guard Was Army Veteran

Clifford Prestwood, 81, of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, died on Saturday, January 12, 2013. 

Clifford had been a security guard at Elder Mountain Volunteer Services for 27 years. He was a United States Army veteran.

He is survived by his daughter, Cathy (James) Bennett; two grandsons, Michael Joseph Benton II and Christopher Todd Benton, and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at noon on Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with military honors. 

Visitation is Tuesday, Jan. 15, from 4-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

A settlement may be close in the federal government's massive False Claims Act case against Cleveland, Tn.-based Life Care Centers of America.
