Stephanie Fletcher
Police said 911 employee Stephanie Fletcher has been arrested in an auto burglary case in East Ridge.
East Ridge Police responded to 913 State Line Road on Friday at approximately 11 p.m. in reference to an auto burglary. When officers arrived, the victim told officers she observed her car door open and a white female carrying items that had been inside. The suspect fled the scene in a black Nissan after leaving the items she was carrying. A GPS system, however, was still missing.
A second victim also approached officers and said his vehicle had been entered and had items missing.
The victim provided officers with the suspect’s vehicle tag number. During the investigation, the suspect was identified as Ms. Fletcher, 29, of Hixson.
Officers returned Ms. Fletcher to the scene, where she was positively identified by the victim and was charged with two counts of burglary of an auto and two counts of theft.
Authorities said she had asked to leave work early on Friday, saying she was feeling sick.
She has been suspended from her 911 job.
She is scheduled to appear in East Ridge Municipal Court on Tuesday, Jan. 22, at 5 p.m.
