Street Closings Announced For The Weekend

Curtain Pole Road in front of the Chattanooga Area Food Bank will be closed from 7-11 p.m. on Saturday, for the Chattanooga Area Food Bank Hullabowloo.  Accommodations for emergency vehicles will be made.

ML King Boulevard from Magnolia Street to Broad Street, Broad Street from ML King Boulevard to 7th Street and West 8th Street from Chestnut Street to Broad Street will be closed from 3-5 p.m. on Monday, for the ML King, Jr. Memorial March.



Historical Event Recognizes Early Founders Of Hamilton County

Colonial Dames Seventeenth Century, Prudhomme Fort Chapter of Chattanooga, held ceremonies at Jackson Chapel Cemetery in Hamilton County, inside the entrance to Chester Frost Park on Chickamauga Lake.  The oldest known date at the cemetery is 1810.  Mary Stagg Johnston, NSCDXVIIC honorary president general, was the speaker at the luncheon held prior to the marking ceremonies. ... 3 Separate Shootings Early Sunday Morning Leave 1 Critically Injured, Another In Serious Condition

Chattanooga Police responded to three shootings, early Sunday morning. Jelani Sorrell, 33, was injured in the first shooting.  Chattanooga Police officers responded at 1:26 a.m. to a person shot at the Sky Zoo Night Club.  Upon arrival they were able to locate Sorrell suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
