Virginia McClain, 90, of Powder Springs, Georgia, died on Wednesday, January 16 2013 in Marietta, Georgia. 

A native of Chattanooga, she had lived in Georgia most of her adult life. She was a member of the Church of Christ and retired from Nabisco after 38 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William H. Lewis Sr. and Edna Mae Goodson Lewis; a brother, William H. (Dub) Lewis, Jr. and a sister, Bettie Goodlett.

Survivors include her daughters, Sasa Bond-Williams (John L. Williams) of Marietta, GA and Denise Smith (Chris Smith) of Smyrna, GA; a sister, Louise Twyman of Lake Wales, FL and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, at the North Chapel. 

A funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 20, at the North Chapel, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to Heritage Hospice, 3315 Hilltop Drive, Marietta, GA, 30066.

Hutcheson Medical Center Trustee Asks Use Of Funds From Clinic Sale To Obtain DISH Funds

The trustee for Hutcheson Medical Center is asking to use proceeds from the sale of the Chickamauga Clinic in order to help obtain Disproportionate Share (DISH) funds from the state of Georgia. Man, 56, Stabbed At The Corner Of North Market, Frazier Avenue

A 56-year-old man was stabbed at the corner of North Market Street and Frazier Avenue on Wednesday night.
