Martha “Marty” Jones Dyer, 63, of Chattanooga, died on Saturday, January 19, 2013.
She was of Baptist faith and attended Tyner High School (class of 68). Marty loved everyone she met, never met a stranger and worked hard all her life to care for her autistic son and others who needed her. She was an asset to her community.
She was predeceased by her husband Wayne Dyer, parents, Ruth and Arvil Jones of Chattanooga, and brother, Donnie Jones of Chattanooga.
Survivors are her sons, Eric Dyer of Dalton, Ga., Ronald J Dyer and Clint Dyer of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Lillian, Leaf, Eduardo and Daniella Dyer; sisters, Bobbie Chapman of Alabama and Carolyn Ragan of Chattanooga; several special nieces and nephews along with many friends.
The family would like to thank the Community of Pikeville, Tn., and the entire staff of Erlanger Bledsoe Hospital for their generous support to our family and wonderful health care for Marty.
Visitation will be at Brainerd Hills Church of God, from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
The Reverend Mike Stanifer will conduct the service at 1 p.m. in the church.
Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
