Brenda Karyl Smith, 51, of Dayton, died on Monday, January 21, 2013.

She was a member of Tasso United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Smith,  son, Brandon Smith, daughter, Tayler Smith and grandson, Bryson Smith, all of Dayton; parents, Robert and Betsy Owenby of Cleveland; sister, Beth Kelley of Seattle, and two nieces.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 25, in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Melvin Walker officiating. 

The family will receive friends from 2-9 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24, at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Legacy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Soddy Daisy.

Eula May "Totsy" Smith Hale, of Hixson, died on Thursday, November 26, at the age of 102.   Mrs. Hale was a member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church and former member of Middle Valley Baptist Church.  She served as organist for 25 years at Woodland Heights Baptist Church. Family Escapes Early Morning House Fire

A home was damaged by fire early Thursday morning.  The Chattanooga Fire Department received a fire call at  3:48  a.m.  and responded to 1825 Dixon Street with four fire companies.
