Fundraiser For City Council Candidate Chris Anderson Is Jan. 31

Lee Davis, Stuart James, Jerry Tidwell, Adam Izell and the Tennessee Democratic Party Chair Candidate Dave Garrison will host a fundraiser for Chris Anderson on Jan. 31 at 5:30 p.m.

Mr. Anderson is running for Chattanooga City Council District 7.

The event will be at the Law Offices of James, Goins, Carpenter & Tidwell, at 817 Broad St., Second Floor. 

The suggested donation is $100  Refreshments will be provided.

UDC #900 Awards Supplementals And Adds New Member

Linda Ballew and her daughter Christy Peden were presented supplemental certificates on April 15 by UDC #900 Jefferson Davis Chapter President Marilyn Kinne and Registrar Anita Green.  The Chapter also added member Andrea Akers. 2nd Severe Storm In 2 Days Hammers Hamilton County; Saturday Storm Caused Damage On Signal Mountain; Widespread Power Outages Reported

The second severe storm in two days was hammering Hamilton County on Sunday evening. The county was among the areas under a tornado warning. The storm arrived from the west about 6 p.m., bringing winds and heavy rain. Lymorris Martin, 59, Stabbed To Death; Rachel Green, 51, Is Arrested

Chattanooga Police responded to the 3200 block of Broad Street early Sunday morning to a person who had been stabbed.   Upon arrival, officers with the Chattanooga Police Department located Lymorris Martin, 59, who had received multiple stab wounds.
