"Vital Congregations" Offered On Wednesday At First-Centenary United Methodist

Hayne Hamilton will lead a discussion of "Vital Congregations" at Prime Time on Wednesday, at First-Centenary United Methodist Church, 410 McCallie Ave. Dinner by reservation is at 5:15 p.m., with the program at 6 p.m.

Dr. Doug Fairbanks will speak at the 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. worship services on Sunday, on "Dissecting Worship," with text from Nehemiah 8:1-3, 5-6, 8-10 and Luke 4:14-21. 

Rev. Brian Davis will speak at The Vine at 10:45 a.m. on "No Child Left Behind," with text from Luke 2:41-52.

Federal Government Sues Life Care's Forrest Preston, Saying He Received Millions In Medicare Funds He Was Not Entitled To

Federal attorneys have sued Forrest Preston, founder and chairman of Cleveland, Tn.,-based Life Care Centers of America, claiming that he was "unjustly enriched" by receiving Medicare funds he was not entitled. Chattanooga Drug Dealer Found With Numerous Drugs, Guns, $25,000 Cash

Jamie Chuy is facing federal charges after a search by police turned up a large amount of drugs, guns and cash at his Chattanooga residence. Chuy is charged with conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of meth as well as being a felon in possession of a firearm.
